By Rich Rezler

The Saline High School swimming and diving team makes a grand entrance into our weekly roundup of Associated Press (football) and coaches association statewide rankings.

The Hornets are No. 1 in Division 1, knocking Pioneer from its familiar perch in this year's first swimming poll.

Saline is also No. 1 in the Division 1 girls cross country rankings. Pioneer (boys cross country and boys water polo) and Greenhills (boys tennis and boys soccer) also have a pair of top-ranked teams.
