Temperance-Bedford rushing attack too much for Lincoln
By Pete Cunningham
With the score tied 7-7 halfway through the third quarter Ypsilanti Lincoln High School quarterback Adrew Dillon lofted a pass to a wide open receiver on the 2-yard line. A catch would have given Lincoln first and goal. The ball slipped through the receiver's hands, and so did the Railsplitters best chance at taking a lead against visiting Temperance-Bedford, who won 28-19.
Bedford (1-1, 1-0 SEC Red) took over on downs on the next play, and drove 65-yards on four straight runs up the middle.
"It was a huge turning point. You saw the momentum change quickly side-to-side," said Lincoln coach Chris Westfall. "They play a hard physical style, and we needed to get to 14-7, so that if they did pound, we were playing with a lead as oppose to just playing catch up." (Story and Photo Gallery | Boxscore)
