It was double the fun at Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center on Saturday.

Three members of the EMU women’s basketball team recorded double-doubles as the Eagles extended their winning streak to four games with a 77-66 win over Miami (Ohio).

And none of them was named Tavelyn James.

Sophomore guard Natachia Watkins (21 points, 14 rebounds), senior forward Paige Redditt (21 points, 13 rebounds) and sophomore forward Olivia Fouty (12 points, 10 rebounds) all reached double-digit totals in multiple categories.

James, the nation’s third-leading scorer at 23.7 points per game, scored 12 of her 18 points in the first half. Sophomore guard Desyree Thomas also dished out 13 assists in the Mid-American Conference crossover win.

Redditt did a bulk of her scoring in the opening minutes of the second half, contributing 10 points while the Eagles (16-7, 8-2 MAC West) opened the half on a 13-2 run.

Miami (17-6, 7-3 MAC East) had erased an early 12-point EMU lead to tie the game, 44-44, at halftime, but couldn’t bounce back from another double-digit deficit.

The Eagles made 30-of-61 (49.2) shots from the floor and recorded 19 offensive rebounds after those 31 misses, resulting in 18 second-chance points. EMU had a 47-27 overall advantage in rebounding and outscored the RedHawks 54-32 in the paint.

Courtney Osborn led Miami with 19 points.

EMU remains tied for the MAC West lead with Toledo (15-7, 8-2), which beat Kent State 66-55 earlier Saturday.
