Three goals from Etienne Lussiez lead Michigan soccer to 4-1 win

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Junior Etienne Lussiez scored three unanswered goals in the second half of the Michigan soccer team's 4-1 win at Detroit on Wednesday.

The first goals of Lussiez's college career resulted in Michigan's first hat trick since Mauro Fuzetti scored three times against the same Titans program in September 2008.

Michigan (2-4-1) outshot Detroit 20-8 for the game, but fell behind 1-0 when Victor Otieno scored for Detroit (3-3) in the 34th minute. Michigan's Tyler Arnone tied the game with an unassisted goal in the 38th minute.

Lussiez's goals came in the 50th, 65th and 77th minute.

The Wolverines, unbeaten since starting the season 0-4, travel to Notre Dame on Friday night.
