Images from Michigan's thrilling 87-85 overtime Sweet 16 win over Kansas

By Melanie Maxwell

Just when everyone had all but given up on Michigan's season, Trey Burke gave them one more reason to believe. The Big Ten Player of the Year showed why a couple national player of the year awards just might be in order, hitting a deep 3-pointer to cap a 14-point second half comeback and force overtime. Michigan prevailed in the extra session, 87-85, to advance to the Elite 8.

Great shots! Captured a lot of the intense raw emotion. This pic needs to be included in the lineup though. http://www.ridethepine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Screen-Shot-2013-03-29-at-8.37.11-PM.png

There is not. Florida state had an all American a couple years ago who was like 28. He joined the military out of high school grew like a foot and a scholarship was waiting. Brandon weeden and Chris weinke had simarly late football careers after playing pro baseball out of high school. Michigan is especially young, the youngest average age in the tournament by almost 2 years.

Great pics, Melanie! I'm especially in love with the first one with the reflection. You've got such a good eye for amazing shots.

These were great shots by Ms. Maxwell - quite thrilling, some of them. To me, the Kansas team looks so much older than ours. Is there an age limit for playing college basketball?

Loved looking at these (especially since I was out reviewing a play while the game was on). What a fun time for long-suffering Michigan basketball fans. Go blue!
