The Eastern Michigan women's basketball team will play host to Washtenaw County rival Michigan on Thursday in first-round Women's National Invitation Tournament action.

The 64-team WNIT field opens action Wednesday. The WNIT final will be played April 2 on the campus of one of the two final schools.

Eastern (22-12, 10-6 in the Mid-American Conference) won four of its last five games. Michigan, (17-12, 10-6 Big Ten), lost to Illinois, 55-47, on Friday in the Big Ten Conference tournament.
