By Michael Rothstein

Michigan's athletic department broke ground on its new Player Development Center for basketball on Monday afternoon.

The actual digging isn't expected to begin until next week and the project won't be completed until October, 2011, but it is the beginning of a massive overhaul to the Crisler Arena basketball complex.

Michigan fans should not spend all their time obsessed about MSU. There is enough to worry about in Ann Arbor. The basketball facility will be nice, but when finished it will still be less than what the major basketball powers have. Its the bare minimum investment in a new facility, and won't produce much in the form of dividends.

Now Beeline needs players to develop. Good luck, get in line- behind MSU, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, Ohio State and re-emerging Indiana.
