Michigan basketball commit Derrick Walton jumps into Scout's top 50 for 2013, Zak Irvin left off list
Michigan basketball commit Derrick Walton is on the rise, according to one national recruiting site.
Fellow 2013 pledge Zak Irvin, however, is not.
Walton, a 6-foot, 175-pound point guard from Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy, was rated as the 48th-best player in Scout.com's most recent Top 100 for 2013 ranking. The four-star point guard is listed as the 10th-best lead guard in the class.
Irvin, rated as the 63rd-best prospect -- and highest-rated Michigan pledge -- in Rivals.com's 2013 rankings, does not appear on Scout.com's Top 100 list.
The 6-foot-6, 180-pound Irvin -- a former high school teammate of 2012 Michigan State signee Gary Harris -- is presently rated as a three-star prospect by Scout.com and is the 24th-best small forward in the class.
Another 2013 Wolverine commit made a jump in Scout's eyes.
Mark Donnal, a 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward from Wayne (Ohio) High School, is rated as a four-star prospect by Scout.com and sits at No. 80 in the site's top 100.

These kids have barely even started the summer circuit yet and have not even entered their senior year yet, so there's nothing here to get worked about one way or the other. I think it IS safe to say all 3 players will be more experienced and better players by the time they enter Michigan. That's what matters.
