Michigan basketball student tickets sales have already doubled

It may be in a different spot, but the "Maize Rage" should be louder this season.

According to a university spokesman, the Michigan basketball program has sold 2,619 student tickets for the upcoming 2011-12 season.

Michigan sold 1,246 student tickets for the entire 2010-11 campaign.

The Michigan student section, known as the "Maize Rage," was moved to the opposite side of the court this season due to recent renovations to Crisler Arena.

The same Michigan spokesman also said Friday that the school has already exceeded the total number of season basketball tickets sold from a year ago. Michigan sold 5,229 season tickets last season, as of now, its sold nearly 5,900.

No. 18 Michigan hosts its first exhibition game at 7 p.m. on Nov. 4 against Wayne State.
