Michigan basketball: Tickets for 2011 Maui Invitational on sale Wednesday

By Nick Baumgardner

Booster tickets for the 2011 Maui Invitational -- a tournament the Michigan basketball team will participate in -- go on sale at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Booster tickets for the event, which features eight teams and runs from Nov. 21-23, are good for entry to all three games each individual team will participate in. The tickets may only be purchased through the tournament’s website, mauiinvitational.com. A maximum of four tickets per fan may be purchased.

Michigan will play in the event for the fifth time in school history and first time since 1998.

The Wolverines open against Memphis at 4 p.m. on Nov. 21 on ESPN2. Should Michigan win its first matchup, it would then play the winner of Duke/Tennessee at 8 p.m. on Nov. 22 on ESPN. Should it lose its first-round matchup with the Tigers, the Wolverines will get the loser of the Duke/Tennessee matchup at 3 p.m. on Nov. 22 on ESPN2.

Michigan's Maui experience will technically begin in Ann Arbor, however, when the Wolverines host Towson on Nov. 14 as part of the “Maui on the Mainland” portion of the tournament.

The remainder of the field features Georgetown, Kansas, UCLA and host Chaminade.
