Watch Michigan basketball recruit Amedeo Della Valle today on ESPN

By Nick Baumgardner

A possible piece of the MIchigan basketball program's future heads to a national stage Saturday afternoon.

Findlay Prep (Nev.) guard Amedeo Della Valle and the rest of his Pilot teammates will take on Montverde (Fla.) Academy during the title game of the ESPNHS National High School Invitational at 2 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.

Della Valle had four points, three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal Friday during Findlay Prep's semifinal win over St. Benedict's (N.J.) Prep.

A combo guard, Della Valle spent virtually the entire game against St. Benedict's playing off the ball.

"(BCS schools aren't) looking at him to be a guy to come in and be an immediate starter or point-scorer," ESPN senior basketball recruiting analyst Dave Telep said during the broadcast Friday. "It's the little things; he has tremendous size for his position.

The Italian-born Della Valle (6 feet, 3 inches, 190 pounds per Rivals.com) was visited by Michigan coach John Beilein earlier this month and currently has plans on visiting Ann Arbor in April.

Michigan now has three scholarships available for the 2012-13 season after Evan Smotrycz, Carlton Brundidge and Colton Christian all announced their intent to transfer shortly after the Wolverines were bounced from the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

The Wolverines also are awaiting a choice from freshman point guard Trey Burke, who currently is deciding whether to return to school or opt for the NBA Draft.

After watching the 2 final four games tonight I have come to the conclusion that college basketball is a very stupid, flawed game. It really is a waste of time to watch.
