Add Manning Award to Denard Robinson's extensive 'watch list' appearances
Michigan junior Denard Robinson is one of 31 quarterbacks on the preseason watch list for the Manning Award.
The Manning Award, which honors the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning, is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. The winner will be announced Jan. 18, 2012.

The watch list, which was released Monday, also includes fellow Big Ten signal callers Kirk Cousins (Michigan State), Taylor Martinez (Nebraska) and Dan Persa (Northwestern).
The Manning Award is the latest in a long string of awards that Robinson is a candidate for. He is also on the watch list for the Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Award, Paul Hornung Award and the Walter Camp Award.

"None of it means anything ... at all"??? Sure it does. It means Michigan is going to win the September Heisman for the third straight year!

Enough of the watch lists, the pre-season rankings and the "best players in the B1G" and the "This is Michigan" assertions. None of it means anything ... at all. Play the games and see what happens. Awards and rankings and best players and restoration of greatness will follow if you win. September 3rd cannot get here soon enough.

It's great to have a quality individual such as Denard Robinson as the UM QB. Imagine if RR was successful in getting Pryor to come to UM? What a nightmare that would have been. Pryor was a basket case of poor character and selfish behavior. Denard is a team-first guy that shows class and integrity. He pretty much single handedly carried UM to 7 wins last year. My money is on Denard having a GREAT year and rallying this team to a successful season. GO BLUE!!!!
