Big Ten Network to introduce football version of 'The Journey' this fall

By Nick Baumgardner

The Big Ten Network's popular inside-access show "The Journey" will soon be about more than college basketball.

BTN confirmed via Facebook and Twitter on Friday that it will introduce a college football version of the show beginning this fall.

The weekly program ran during the Big Ten basketball season and featured inside looks at players, coaches and programs, as well as game recaps.

There is no word yet on how many football-centric episodes will air, or when the program will debut.

I have wondered why they hadn't done this before. I know a football-centric "The Journey" would be a lot more interesting to people than the basketball series, not to knock B1G bball. We were the best conference this past season. But football grabs more people's attention, and I'd love an inside look on Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Nebraska and Michigan State, as well as see what it's like for programs with newer coaches or coaches on the hot seat (of course last season might have been better for that).
