@ Tater... the history of the Michigan vs msu little brother is @ 67-29 Michigan, with msu 3 wins in last 12 years, is that what you were referring to? I think the article you wrote had slightly different results - the 877 all time wins (#1 in America) and the Big Ten record of 464-179 (B10 best) were correct. And you were correct, 'People who trash UM FB have poor memories'.

Funny how RR is the king and yet a dismal failure. Funny how a once proud program is now an also ran in the Big Ten. Funny how you knock OSU and Pryor when they will play in another BCS Bowl maybe even a NC. Funny how U of M is now MSU little bro

Well, in 08 Threet and Sheridan were at quarterback, and those two are not Michigan caliber quarterbacks and the quarterback is the most important position on the field, and in 09 we lead in scoring offense. But as for the recruits, yes, they were great recruiting classes, however, they are still young and inexperienced. You can't expect magic out of young players right away and expect to win 8-13 games. Defense was our problem and thankfully we have some experience and depth to work with. I promise the tree will bear fruit this year.

@ BowlForBlue.... I think the fact that the secondary schools like, osu, msu and the other 8 below Michigan had a good day or a bad day is irrelevant at this point. Remember the nice articles our website here put out on D.Robb, Roundtree, Hopkins, Pauloski and others after our spring game- then the trolls, idiots and others flooded our site with,...'it's just a spring game, blah, blah...'. Even scum would rise to the top for a moment to joke UM was a secondary school, what a farce. So take the good with the bad, Michigan had a great spring game, and the secondary schools - well, who cares really.

BowlforBlue - "The Big Ten secondary schools weren't all that impressive at spring games" Uh...UM is a Big Ten secondary school. Check that, a Big Ten tertiary school. The facts prove it out over the last 2 seasons.

Great comments! Marineblue, appreciate your comment on the source being an Iowa fan; however, looking for your comments on the content, not the pedigree. I've read tons on this like everyone else, and this article more than any summed up what I and many of the other folks in section 21 are thinking. Sometimes it just takes someone a little removed to see the obvious. I think you know from my other posts that I will never be a Tater or a Theo - it is what it is. And Robbie, I already agree with you that Harbaugh is not the holy grail for us. You have a strong feeling, I just have 'a feeling' that this isn't right. But relative to your views on whether the current coaching staff is culpable, I look at the fact that RR inherited four (actually 10) top-ten recruiting seasons (per ESPN who is not a Big Ten fan) and then went 3-9. I don't know how one can't lay this on the doorstep. Combined with what to me is a clear lack of trueblue values - Integrity and Respect (which is where I have a problem with Tater) - and I don't see an indigenous way out of this situation. Go Blue!!

Regarding this spring game series and the recent comments about that book Under the Bleachers. That book illustrates aspects of 'what if's', and different scenarios on college football - you know, if urban myers were at notre dame etc. It is a lot like the book Chosen Unknown, where the author has no real knowledge of college football and uses fantasy logic and guessing to claim 'what if', etc. - not your typical intellectual college football cup of tea if you will.

I agree like 'Rome', it certainly has taken a little longer... we've heard all the facts, cupboard bare, new offense (never seen in UM history), etc., and hopefully yes, it is past problems... Oh, Mr. Rodriguez will be much successful indeed... as far as 'conquering', that - I and the faithful are very hopeful of.

Terry.....what has he conquered? He got wvu dominant after the big 3 left the big east. And then they replaced them with schools that had crappy teams at the time. Seriously some rational thoughts are needed.

@ Marineblue.... the aarox report was taken from the bleacher report, I read it... it was called 'Under the Bleachers', by Seymour Butts... early 2010, I believe. There is no replacement for RichRod, are you kidding me... he's not going anywhere. He'll stay and we will become champions. Yes like Rome, taking a little longer to build, yet he conquers like no other NCAA coach has or ever will. RichRod for president in 2012.

Yep Rome wasn't built in a day. But Rome conquered its opponents they didn't thrive cause of defections to another conference. RR did well at WVU AFTER Miami, Va Tech, and BC left to go to the ACC. He had average teams before then. I doubt RR is where is he is now if those 3 teams had stayed. The Big 11 isn't planning on letting OSU, Penn State, and Iowa leave the conference. We can say what we want about OSU but the fact remains to be the man you have to beat the man. Pryor doesn't have to have prototypical qb mechanics to win games. His improvement has to come with more mental learning of defenses and checkdowns. I highly doubt he wins the Heisman, but I also doubt G-Rob's defenses will ever stop him

Attention! I watched the OSU Spring Game and Id like to officially announce that there is a quarterback controversy brewing in Columbus. They have a red-shirt freshman named Kenny Guiton whos going to be challenging Pryor by mid-season. Guiton is better than Pryor is now. I was also pleasantly surprised with UMs Spring Game. Denard Robinsons passing is much improved. Id rather see DeRob and Devin Gardner in Maize and Blue any day over Pryor. Robinson, Forcier & Gardner are going to be Tessels worst nightmare over the next three years! Go Blue! Queme los Trolles! Its a great day to be a Wolverine!

Aarox, he has not brought failure. There are multiple reasons why our record is the way it is and the coaching is not one of them. You clearly don't understand. And Jim Harbaugh would be HORRIBLE. He runs a different offense and that would mean our players now would have to learn a new offense again and switch and it would set the program back even further. You don't seem to get that the big ten is behind and isn't a tough conference at this point. OSU has been the one going to BCS games and with the exception of last year they get beat. Why? Because the big ten is so far behind with how things have changed. It's not about running the football 24/7 this is not the old days. Athletes are much better now. If you don't recall we ran the spread in Carr's last game and we beat the national champions. If we would have ran our old run and go offense we would have lost. Rich Rod is going to be great at Michigan. Rome wasn't built in a day. It takes time and I'm all for two losing seasons if that means getting this program back to where it's known for, which is big ten and national championships.

@aarox: you use an article from the bleacher report??? are you serious? what is even worse is, it was written by a iowa hawkeye fan. nice work.... to bad for the haters, RR wins this year.

rich rod has been aa trainwreck since he has been at michigan and jim harbaugh would be a great fit. harbaugh would bring woodshed beating to big ten teams and rich rod seems to bring loosing to michigan.

Yeah, I won't trash teams that are legitimately better than us. We will come back but it probably won't be soon enough for me. Tater did a reasonable if once again overly biased take on the commentary. "Uh, gee: it's really trendy to trash RR right now, but they looked really good. I guess we'll just have to be quiet about it."........But below is what Big Ten Network doesn't have the guts to tell us. This from a source that doesn't depend on the Big Ten for its existence. _________________________________________________________________ Top 10 Replacements for Rich Rodriguez It's no secret that Rich Rodriguez hasn't been popular since arriving in Ann Arbor two years ago. No, let me rephrase that. The Rich Rodriguez experiment has been an utter failure for Michigan since his hiring after the 2007 season. His on-field results, have been underwhelming (putting it lightly) for Michigan standards, going 8-16 in two seasons with no bowl appearances and the worst single season record in program history (3-9). Off-field issues have been a problem as well. Many players, such as Justin Boren and Ryan Mallett, who now star for Ohio State and Arkansas respectively, have left the program. Boren specifically cited Rodriguez's behavior and a "lack of family values." Now, with the beginning of an NCAA investigation of rules violations during the 2009 season, the ice below Rich Rod just got a little thinner. Clearly, Rodriguez's time is running out. He doesn't seem to have what it takes to coach Big Ten football, and many people who follow the sport and the program believe that he will be fired unless he starts to show signs of a turnaround both on and off the field. So, as a preemptive measure, let's take a look at a very early short-list for Rich Rod's successors at Michigan. Because as the on- and off-field issues continue to add up, there's plenty of reason to believe Rodriguez will be out of a job in the near future. Here are my top picks: 10. Mike DeBord, Chicago Bears tight ends coach 9. Ron English, Eastern Michigan head coach 8. Brady Hoke, San Diego State head coach 7. Chris Petersen, Boise State head coach 6. Mike Stoops, Arizona head coach 5. Gary Patterson, TCU head coach 4. Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech head coach 3. Pat Fitzgerald, Northwestern head coach 2. Les Miles, LSU head coach 1. Jim Harbaugh, Stanford head coach _________________________________________________________________ Back to me. Personally I think Pat Fitzgerald is a great fit and would be better than either Miles or Harbaugh. But its a moot point as I am too damned proud to take someone from lowly Northwestern and guess the fans would revolt. Plus he's made it clear he'd rather be at NW than here (unbelieveable). We are Meeechigan and that's that. For that matter I'd take D'A in a Michigan minute except for his accepting a job at you-know-where. Miles is not a great fit and has some tarnish after the last couple of years. Harbaugh is the conventional wisdom but something feels wrong about the timing. And this would be the safe choice for David Brandon but I don't see him making the safe choices - he wants to make an impact. Whether he sees landing Harbaugh as creating his legacy or merely fulfilling a prophecy is an interesting question. Stoops would be good for us too. Curious what the rest of us think. Is it blasphemy to even ask the question at this point??

The Big Ten secondary schools weren't all that impressive at spring games... even the B10 commentators were cautious and looking for positive things.... pryor, like osu has been running out of gas for about a year and a half now... watch for that tank to empty shortly after the season starts... msu's tank will be empty before the season starts, players frustrated, start fights... wait, what? As far as Mr. Rodriguez, it is indeed taking somewhat longer... but remember, he made major changes, adaptions... Rome wasn't built in a day. Saban and tressel walked right into a boat load of talent, copied the existing playbook, and were naturally a little quicker - like building a Burger King.

I watched the video. Remember how the annarbor.com said D.Robb looked so good, then the outsider attackers said it's just a spring game? If that's the case, these other B10 teams really didn't look that good, so their logic says - they are in mucho trouble this year. UM FB to win te B10 this year, January 1 Bowl. Tater... I agree about pryor, he wants the status, the glory but doesn't want to do the work - he is a sleeper out on the field. Look for Denard to overtake him during the season. msu, well their msu... every 12 years they win a couple from the UM and have two years of obnoxious bragging. They disappear when we win. wisconsin frightens me a bit this year, them and iowa give us trouble in 2010. Michigan Spring game - 47..... Rest of B10 spring games - 0, or less.
