Braylon Edwards involved in single-car crash on Belle Isle

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Former Michigan wide receiver Braylon Edwards was involved in a single-car accident on Belle Isle early this morning, Detroit television station WDIV reported.

Police said alcohol was not a factor and there were no injuries in the crash of an Audi being driven by Edwards and owned by his 25-year-old passenger. WDIV video shows the location where the car failed to complete a curve, jumped a curb and crashed into concrete pylons.

Edwards, a Detroit native, said on his Twitter account Thursday that he was "headed to the D" to visit family. Belle Isle is an island park located in the Detroit River.

Now there ya go, this could have been a real tragedy and thank god no serious injury here or fatality. Did you ever notice that there's always that one person that has a twisted mind and they cannot help but make a twisted remark?

Maybe Edwards Passenger was distracting him?

Wasn't Belle Isle the site of the former Detroit Grand Prix? ' Makes sense that people are still using its roadway like that. At least he and his passenger weren't injured. He's a Michigan Man: it should be emphasized that he personally paid college tuition for 100 young students. I wish him the best of luck and continued success in his football career.

It was an Audi: must have been mechanical failure. I don't know why this is really news, but whatever...

Possibly some excessive speeding as well.

"the car failed to complete a curve, jumped a curb and crashed into concrete pylons...." reads like reckless driving to me, or some such thing.
