Also, RR can recruit. He just doesn't get the character of players Bo/Carr did when it comes to playing the game and putting if first. RR recruited 5 star Campbell, he just is a huge bust that is bottom of the depth chart. Dorsey is another athlete who had the ability to play, but will never see a game at the big house. Get use to it. Carr got some big jokes when it came to character and maturity and smarts(I think it was massaquoi got a 7 on the wonderlic test, 2nd lowest of all time). But he kept their minds on the game and kept them in line and they improved and did good.

I love the ignorant claim that the cupboard was bare. 7 5 star players. on team. But Mallet, on of the best boys in nation was chased out so a run could be made on Pryor. Boren was chased out by everyone, but is and all american at OSU. Threet is starting at ASU. McJumpie is starting at Rice. Devildog, it is better for RR to stay. He has his players. If you try and go back to a Bo/Carr system now, you will spend another 3 years of transition of players to get the ones you need for a traditional offense. If you don't like just 3 conference victories in 2 years and a major shift of focus from OSU to MSU because the rivalry with OSU is a joke like it is now(9 of last 10 games were Ls for UM) you will either want to stick with RR or go to another coach that runs the spread style he does.

Coach Carr may have not liked to recruit, but his last three (2005-2007) classes were ranked 1,3,1 in the big ten (nationally 6;13;12 from rivals.com). That is hardly the cupboard being bare. I know that RR chased some of this talent out of the UM program. He maybe avoids the situation he is in if he keeps Mallett and some others, so he kind of help to create the situation he is in. We will never know, but I would think that Carr would have done better in 2008. Pew or no pew. I just find it humorous that the lack of recruiting is always brought up as a bailout argument for RR. Good luck this year.

Thank You Tater! I'm getting tired of hearing all the hate as well. Whether you like him or not, he's here right now trying to bring us back to Michigan Football, and I think he can do it. Why don't we rally around the team instead of putting them down. How does all this whining help the team?

I find it hard to follow UM football - being a native and life-long fan, what I am seeing in the last few years is heartbreaking at best. The fact that this coach is still in place - what can you say. And now the AD seems like he is cut from same cloth - we are in a desperate situation and this year will be grim. Maybe both these fools will leave then and we can get back to the way Bo would be happy.
