Denard Robinson's knee is fine; regardless, he'll see limited action in today's Michigan football practice

Denard Robinson will see limited action in today’s Michigan football practice -- moreso because he’s exhausted and not because of a lingering knee bruise.

Coach Rich Rodriguez said Monday that his sophomore quarterback would see little action in the already-light weekly practice because of the number of plays he saw during Michigan's 42-35 win Saturday.

Robinson sustained a knee bruise against Bowling Green two weeks ago. He aggravated it against Indiana, missing three plays in the third quarter before re-entering the game.

After the game Saturday, Robinson said he felt fine. Teammates said Monday that even if Robinson was hurting, he’d never let anyone know.

“If you ask him, he just gets a smile on his face and says he’s fine,” left guard Steve Schilling said.

As if on cue, Robinson followed Schilling to the podium during Monday's press conference. Asked about his health, he said, "I'm feeling good. I'm feeling all right."

Denard sure is a class act. We need players like him in the whole ncaa. Denard, your awesome. Just stay healthy for your future success, not just to win a game, for fans and put your career in jeopardy. I want u to win games but remember u come first and god will lead u the rest of way. Thanks for choosing Michigan.

id say hes got enough grasp of the offense that he could spend a decent portion of this week just keeping himself physically warm, reading over plays, and most importantly watching film. We are gonna need him red HOT this weekend and with him getting some rest it gives the other 2 QBs some first string snaps just in case.

98 offensive plays for Indiana, 44 offensive plays for Michigan, Chappell will have to take two weeks off.

Denard will get rested only when, and if, the defense starts stopping opponents. Without a comfortable lead, RR will not play Forcier or Gardner. Unlike a lot of the critics out there, I believe that UM can, and will, beat both MSU and Iowa, because neither team can stay with UM in a shootout. Again, the key is the Wolverine defense, getting better each week, and slowing these teams down. Let's hope that the Michigan faithful will bring their 'A game', as far as noise, and support, for this young team! Go Blue!

Yeah Bryan that confused me too. "the number of plays" in 17 minutes on the field? Granted the few plays he ran were extraordinarily productive....

"He will see little action because of the number of plays he saw during the Indiana game" How many plays was it? 20? We had the ball for 18 minutes. And scored on the second play of like 3 drives. Anyways...he definitely needs to get rested. Mondays are slow days anyway for practice. Go Blue!

They really DO need to rest Denard as much as feasible right now. The next two games are going to be brutal before he gets a week off. You know both MSU's and Iowa's defenses are going to be gunning for him. I hope Shaw, Smith, and the other backs can really step forward to help him out. I think the coaches will need to increase the number of passes by Denard to help reduce the wear and tear.
