Desmond Howard playing for Ohio State, Notre Dame or Michigan State? New video game makes it possible
For four years, former Michigan football star Desmond Howard tortured rival opponents with highlight-reel catches and electrifying returns.
But what if Howard put the hurt on the Wolverines while wearing an Ohio State jersey? Or Notre Dame gold and blue? Or a Michigan State helmet?
In EA Sports' NCAA Football '13 video game, that's absolutely a possibility.
The newest edition of EA's college football game features a "Heisman Challenge" option that allows players to take one of 10 former Heisman Trophy winners and play them on any team of their choosing.
Howard, who won the award in 1991, is among the 10 available and is shown in an EA Sports video clip catching passes in a virtual Ohio State and Notre Dame uniform.
Other available Heisman swappers are Barry Sanders, Andre Ware, Herschel Walker, Robert Griffin III, Marcus Allen, Charlie Ward, Eddie George, Carson Palmer and Doug Flutie.
Jim Plunkett, Archie Griffin and Tim Brown will be available for those who download the "demo" version of the game, while Tim Tebow, Matt Leinart and Mark Ingram can be used by pre-order customers.
Fellow Michigan Heisman winners Charles Woodson and Tom Harmon are not available players.
