Ingalls Mall will be the location of the ESPN College GameDay live broadcast prior the Sept. 10 Michigan-Notre Dame football game, the Michigan athletic department announced today.

Ingalls Mall is located between Burton Tower and the Michigan League on Michigan's Central Campus.

The network announced the campuses it will visit on Aug. 5, but a location for the Michigan broadcast had not been confirmed.

The Sept. 10 visit will be the 10th time, and first since 2007, that the traveling college football preview show has set up camp in Ann Arbor. Only Ohio State and Florida have hosted the show more often since it first hit the road in 1993.

The Michigan-Notre Dame game will be broadcast by ESPN beginning at 8 p.m.

Former Michigan wide receiver Desmond Howard, who will be honored by Michigan during the game, is part of the show’s panel, along with host Chris Fowler, analysts Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso and contributor Erin Andrews.

ESPN will broadcast live from Ingalls Mall from 9 a.m. until noon. The show begins on ESPNU from 9-10 a.m. and airs on ESPN from 10 a.m. until kickoff of the day's first game at noon.

"We are excited that ESPN will bring their award-winning show to Ann Arbor and our campus," Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon said in a statement. "This is a great way to showcase the University of Michigan to the nation. It will be a memorable day and night in Ann Arbor and to have GameDay here to chronicle the event will be tremendous."

Glad it's not in an undisclosed bunker.

They should have done this on Elbel field, it would be great to have the band in the background.

Michigan should seize the opportunity and debut a new mascot during the GameDay predictions segment where Lee Corso puts on the mascot head of his predicted winner of the game. I was thinking the same thing, and then saw your comment. I can't believe they will let him anywhere near UM. Sorry, Herbie, if my comment makes you sad.

The location is too far away from the stadium IMHO.
