Ex-Michigan football star Brandon Graham says Rich Rodriguez is 'not going anywhere'

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Brandon Graham, the former Michigan defensive end and a first-round NFL Draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles, says any talk about football coach Rich Rodriguez leaving Michigan is premature.

"I know he's going to be there, he's staying there, he's not going anywhere. I can see that already within the team,'' Graham said on a teleconference Wednesday. "I don't see Coach Rod leaving. They're taking it one game at a time and lot of people are going to have a different perspective when they talk about Michigan.''

Graham had one assist and two quaterback hurries in his first NFL game, a 27-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Just like we were able to take his guarantee that we'd beat MSU to the bank, right? Thanks for that comment, jameslucas. And I don't mean that in a bad way. I just was really confused when I read what Graham said about RR because, like you, I have seen Graham as a Michigan guy to listen to. But now I'm just starting to think/realize that sometimes he flatout doesn't know any better when he speaks.

3, they've proven you wrong, as you said the first two games were losses.

Oh I get it, so if a player makes great strides from year one to year two, like Craig Roh, Denard Robinson, Roy Roundtree or any number of these players making great contributions, it is because they are just great talents and it has nothing to do with the current coaching staff developmental training. But if a player leaves or any other negative issues it is all on the coaching staff?

Brandon Graham is a smart player, so when he says that Michigan Head Football Coach Rich Rodriguez is not going anywhere then you can take that to the bank.

A superior athlete like Brandon Graham would succeed under any coach. Here is what he did as a SOPHOMORE in Lloyd Carr's last year: Sophomore (2007)... earned second varsity letter... was a Ted Hendricks Trophy candidate... played in all 13 contests and made five starts at defensive end... led team in sacks (8.5) and was second in forced fumbles (three)... tied for seventh in the Big Ten and tied for 34th nationally in sacks... tied for seventh in the conference and tied for 55th nationally in forced fumbles (0.25 avg.)... contributed a career-best 25 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one pass breakup. Nuff Said. Brandon Graham made Brandon Graham.

Brandon Graham flourished under this coaching staffs leadership, he would have floundered under Coach Carr!

Thank God, old man Carr retired, so that these players could develop to their full pontential! Appy State was Carr's curtain call!

I do find it odd that a newspaper would so easily delete posts. I read all of those posts before they were deleted and although there was dialogue/conversation among posters, there wasn't anything that rated being deleted. Jameslucas actually had a positive post to this story. The fact that he additionally commented to the poster that must not be named, shouldn't warrant the post being deleted. Come on, it's a newspaper. Unless something is obscene or blatantly offensive or hurtful, you shouldn't just delete it.

Now, to this topic. Agreed, jameslucas. It's about time some of these guys start speaking out. That's one of the things that I liked about the Van Bergen article. It gave some real insight into what the players have to go through, being on the inside and having to listen to all of this garbage.

3 And Out

this is what people said last year when the team was 4-0 in the non conference before they got thumped in the Big Ten. Its a long season...theyve proven nothing so far...
