Ex-Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh says he has no trouble spotting NFL-level QBs
Former Michigan quarterback and current first-year San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh knows a high-level quarterback when he sees one.
Sacramento Bee reporter Matt Barrows has a question-and-answer blog post with Harbaugh in advance of the NFL Draft.
Harbaugh on quarterbacks:
"I feel like I've seen it enough to say, 'OK, that's an NFL quarterback. He does this very well, he could do this in our system or that. Or he needs to improve in this area or that.' You know? There are certain things that make a quarterback successful."

Harbaugh decided there wasn't enough talent in Michigan. Please admit you are no longer in the elite standings. You hada lot of problems with Tress what will you do when Meyer gets here?

You want us to admit we're no longer elite, be careful what you wish for, that same thought is being cast on ohio state as we speak. Urban will not coach at ohio state, he has difficulty with that kind of stress.

First ... we'll see if this "Meyer to OSU" thing pans out. Word on the street is that Tressel is taking the bullet for AD Gene Smith. As long as the focus stays on the coach then the institution itself isn't under scrutiny. If Tressel forced out, then he will likely talk and the focus comes back to look at the OSU program overall. Second ... compared to Florida, OSU is also a "talent poor" program. Just look at the recruiting classes year after year ... the five-star talent stays in the south. So this pitiful attempt to cast Michigan as a bygone program is classic pot calling the kettle black. Third ... Harbaugh had a different personal objective and Michigan didn't map to that objective. Like I mentioned above, time will tell if Harbaugh's decision to coach the 49ers was the right decision.

Soon enough Harbaugh will be under his own scrutiny as coach of the 49ers. He'll soon see if his decision to "go pro" was appropriate or not.

Interesting phrase: "trust your antenna." Harbaugh used it twice. It sounds like Harbaugh trusted his antenna this January and figured out that right now wasn't his time to return to Ann Arbor and DB wasn't the right boss to work for.
