Ex-Michigan receiver, Sugar Bowl MVP Junior Hemingway has bowl valuables stolen

By Kyle Meinke

Former Michigan receiver Junior Hemingway capped the best season of his five-year career by earning MVP honors at the Sugar Bowl in January.

Exactly one month later, he had his Sugar Bowl watch, among other valuables, stolen from his father's house in Conway, S.C., according to myrtlebeachonline.com.

Police were called to the home at 11 a.m. Friday after Hemingway's father, Kenneth Earl Hemingway, reported someone entered his house earlier that morning, the report said.

Things taken from the home, according to the website: A Gator Bowl watch valued at $1,000; a Sugar Bowl watch valued at $1,000; an East/West watch valued at $1,000; a silver watch valued at $1,200; a gold watch valued at $500; an Outback Bowl ring valued at $1,000; a gold diamond ring valued at $800; a gold initial ring with a K on it valued at $500; two video gaming systems and controllers valued at $759; 11 video games valued at $400; and a 55-inch TV valued at $1,200.

Hemingway finished last season with a career-best 34 catches for 699 yards and four touchdowns. Two of those scores came in the Sugar Bowl, which helped the Wolverines beat Virginia Tech, 23-20.

The Conway native will compete in the NFL combine later this month with former teammates Mike Martin and David Molk.

Yeah, the Hemingways were obviously targeted. What a rotten thing to do. Best wishes to Junior and his dad: I hope you get all your valuables back.

That's terrible. Junior worked so hard on the field for those things making us all happy by contributing to the wins. I hope his memorabilia is returned to him. This makes me root for Big Play Hemingway even more.

This stuff would have the most value to a Michigan fan. Please keep an eye out for them (e-bay, sports memorabilia shops etc.) and help get them back to the Michigan Man that earned them.
