By Staff

A memorial service will be held Sunday in Dayton, Ohio, for John Hoke, the 80-year-old father of Michigan football coach Brady Hoke.

John Hoke died Monday at the University of Michigan Hospital, "surrounded by his loving family," according to an obituary in the Dayton Daily News.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to Faith Lutheran Church in Dayton be made in memory of John M. Hoke.

I read some of the entries in the Guest Book at the obit in the Dayton website/newspaper. It is obvious that Mr. Hoke had a great impact in many people's lives, not just his son who has done such a fine job reviving the Michigan program. This is a lesson for us all, treat people well, help them, be considerate and a great family man, impact others lives in a positive way. I didnt know the man, but from reading these responses, those that did know him...loved and respected him very much. RIP Mr. Hoke. Go Blue.
