Hawaii no longer interested in former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Former Michigan football player Tate Forcier remains a quarterback without a team.

The University of Hawaii was considered to be a possible landing spot for Forcier, but the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported today that "Forcier did not project to meet the requirements to join the Warriors for UH's fall semester."

After starting all 12 games as a freshman at Michigan in 2009, Forcier was a backup to Denard Robinson in 2010, passing for 597 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. Forcier was ruled academically ineligible before the 2011 Gator Bowl and never returned to the Michigan program.

TateWatch 2011 moves on. He'd be better served at this point to try a DII school where he can focus on getting some academics going. Meanwhile, This is Michigan.

Yes, what we are seeing here is a good kid that spent his youth concentrating on becoming a QB. Lesson to all - college will eat you up. I should know, I was one of those kids who could not concentrate on the studies or just did not have the "habits" in place at a time when my friends were succeeding. This does not mean you're stupid, it just means you don't have the habits down to do the course work. If he actually spent some time for a year at a JC with a good teacher, he too can succeed in an academic environment. He will find himself not sleeping at night thinking about this, which in turn makes things worse. Take two classes in the summer, focus, and start biting this thing off one day at a time. He already has proven himself as a good QB.

Why are we still following Tate? Now I have to comment on this Tate college football is what the first word of it says "college" You have to do your school work before football at whatever school would accept you. I hope your parents are trying to help you on this matter. Listen to your peers, they are trying to help you. Incompletes is school work = no pass attempts on any field. Looks like your heading down Pryors path -supplemental draft. Call coach Hoke and take 1 year off and do your school work. Maybe he'll let you on a real team.

Well Mr Tate Forcier I suppose this is what separates the men and boys, are you a man or are you a boy?

Those who advise the JC route are correct. Forcier should also lower his sights a bit ... he's not going to be a star at a recognizable BCS school. But he could be a stud at a lot of other schools ... provided he gets his head screwed on straight. Oh ... and that dream about playing in the NFL? Set that aside, young man ... it's simply not going to happen.

Word must have gotten out about Mr. Forcier to the rest of the college football world. I agree with Mick. Find a smaller school or JC, sit out a year, get his academics in order, and make the best of his two years of remaining eligibility. He's at a crossroads in his college career and he has no room for any more screw-ups if he wants to play football at all.

The maxim "you sleep in the bed you made" sure seems to be biting Tate in the rear. I feel bad for him that he is a lost soul out there. Imagine that, 3 for 3 for the Forcier's. I sure hope that he finds a place and settles in. Even if he's not with UM anymore, I wish him peace and success. But most of all, good guidance and leadership.

Tate, quit trying to take a short cut, suck it up, do your school work and earn your way on the field. Go to a Junior College or whatever you have to do to get your career straight. Cam Newton did that and look what happened for him, whether he got paid to attend Auburn is another matter all together. You're not getting any younger, this opportunity is fleeting, you better wake up and smell the coffee before it's too late, I'm not sure what advice dad is giving you, I'm really concerned for you now. Bottom line, if you had done your school work in AA, you'd be one hit or a bad performance by Denard from seeing the field, cut it out with your visions of grandeur.
