Highlights on Michigans 65/21 victory over Bowling Green Quarterback Advantage Michigan Offensive Line Advantage Michigan Defense Line Advantage Michigan Linebackers Advantage Michigan Secondary Advantage Michigan Running Backs Advantage Michigan Receivers Advantage Michigan Special Teams Advantage Michigan Coaching Advantage Michigan Home Field Advantage Michigan The good the bad and the ugly Fans hearts stopped when Shoelaces went down holding his knee, thank God its just a bruised knee. Michigans offensive line had another great day, got some young players time Our offensive line depth is good Michigans supper backs had the best day of year, thanks to the offensive line Our depth at supper backs are pretty good Toussaint first two carries, a 51 yard run that lead to his number being called for a 5 yard TD. Devin Gardener completed 7 of 10 of his passes; 2 of the dropped balls should have been caught Tate made good decisions went 12 for 12, thats a Michigan record Regardless of the quarterback; they will make few mistakes, they will put up big points Roundtree had 100 yards receiving, on 9 passes The air ball was well distributed among receivers our depth pretty good 721 yards of offensive, 466 on the ground, 255 through the air Big 10 defenses will have to pick their poison when they play Michigan Michigans got off to a fast start, scored 21 offensive in the 1st, allowing rotation of players Penalties were a problem; even Michigans Equipment Manager Jon Falk had 1 for 5 yards Officiating was bad this week, some bad calls on both sides, but thats part of the game Some bad decisions are still being made by Michigan on kick off returns and punt returns Big 10 opponents learned nothing new about Michigans field goal kicking this week Place kicking on extra points was perfect today No punts this week that is always good news 1st safety in a long time Hopkins fumbled in the 1st, leading to Bowling Green scoring a touchdown in the 2nd quarter After a penalty and dropped pass by Michigan in the 2nd ended a drive, Bowling Green had a pass that went 71 yards for a TD on missed tackles. 2 times Bowling Green went for it on a short 4th and goal and made it Michigan defense held Bowling Green to 32 yards rushing Kovacs made 8 tackles, including 1 for a loss Mouton had a pick, 1 sack, and 7 tackles Vinopal had 1 pick and 1 fumble in the 2nd to last play of the game Michigan secondary showed some weakness, but still had good game, improved over last week, Bowling Green did score 3 TD, the 1st TD after a fumble, 2nd TD after a drive ending dropped pass and penalty, these are mistakes the offence made, and a good defense should have baled them out. But we all knew we did not have a good defense before the start of the year. True it was Bowling Green, but Michigan has played many worse teams in our history, and we have not done as well as we did in this record breaking game. The best news is Michigan remains undefeated at 4 and 0 going into Big 10 play. Questions Has Coach Richs depth chart for the number 2 and 3 quarterbacks changed? Is Shaw ok after being injured by a leg whip in the 3rd? Was Tate injured in the 3rd? He seemed kind of gimpy for a while. What about the field goal kicking? Have we just given up on it?
