Images from the Michigan football team's dominating 59-9 win over Central Michigan

By Melanie Maxwell

The Michigan football team started its season on the right foot on Saturday defeating Central Michigan handily, 59-9. Michigan stumbled early on offense, but a jolt from the special teams and defensive units gave the Wolverines the boost they needed.

I felt good about the final score but, like tonycliffton222 there were issues that give one pause and I saw what I consider some issues that need to be corrected. I do not compare our skill level with what might or might not be there in a game with Central Mich. Central is not a good opponent to evaluate our team especially against next Sat. opponent.

some things about the game are realy worrying me I don't know what kind of camera angles the big ten network showed but cmu ran a cover 1 press the whole game they dared Michigan to throw it and they did but with the amount of pass plays called and the defense cmu was in it should of been 80-9.devin gardner looked bad and not just because of the ints both you could say were fluke picks.again I don't know what the camera angles showed but he had open recivers on every play some so wide open it was almost like he had tunnel vision.im a die hard Michigan fan but unless we get far better play from the qb postion and also from the reciver postion forgot about a big ten title.also the defense is soft up the middle no push from the noseguard spot cmu had success lining up in power I and running up the gut against us.side to side I would say there isn't a defense in the country that's faster but line up with two tights and a fullback and we are toast.we beat notre because they are worse then we are and its at home but I don't see them winning more then 8 games unless there is a drastic improvement at keys spots.that being said go blue and I hope my twenty years of football knowledge is wrong
