I just think M Fans don't want to have to put up with front-butt jokes. I completely forgot about Taylor Lewan. Awesome!

Geez commenters - whats the deal with making talk about the coaches weight ? Melanie just provided some excellent photos here, what kind of people look for things to criticize ? The coaches will be fine....need I remind you of a jolly old man every December as a kid you couldn't wait to see, to hug and to love ! MgoBlueForTiM................Michigan Faithful loves our coaches as they are !!!!

Regarding coaches weight....all im sayin is that guys in their 50s and 60s... carrying 40+ extra pounds on their frames...is not safe from a fundamental health standpoint. I just want our coaches to enjoy long careers here without issue... they should take a lesson from Fred J and be reasonably in shape!

if the coaches were in shape, it would mean they have time to get in shape! being over weight hopefully means they are spending their time figuring out how to bolster their defense, kicking game, O, and recruiting, etc!!

What's the big deal about plus-sized coaches? I say they're setting the pefect example for lineman that need to get bigger!

You need to really get away and support your own team. Don't be ashamed and embarrassed of your team - not every team can have it all like Michigan.

I think the weight on our coaches is of little concern. Loosing weight could be beneficial from a health standpoint ; however, would anyone rather have fit coaches who can't lead? Remember, we had that... Young men need experienced football coaches who can bring out the best in them and we have that with our coaches. It's about the team not individuals.

You are right about that point regarding leadership. My comment about the weight is just about setting a good example and taking care of themselves, which everyone must do. But so far, this team of coaches is reminiscent of the best of the coaches in terms of accountability and respectability that we have had in the past 40 years.

Couple of those coaches in poor shape. For the sake of their own health and as an example to the players, they should shed some (a lot) weight.

Wonderful photo essay. Thanks. When are the coaches going to get rid of those ridiculous stripes down the sides of these practice jerseys? They ruin a good looking uniform (I know it's just practice.......Practice!!!) I did not realize how big Mattison and Hoke are. They should take advice they gave to Will Campbell and lose some. It's for their long term health benefit and sets a good example.

I'm also hoping their game jerseys lose their stripes as well. I just like the basic solid color, numbers, and logos style.

Do the defensive starters get to wear a maize outlined numbers on the jersey and the second string down just get the blue letters?
