Defenses will play a big role in this game. Linemen will play a big role in this game. NOT a certainty but the "IFS" favoring Michigan offer them the chance to score big on MSU. That's IF: 1. Both Michigan's offense and defense get off to a fast start. Catch-up football could be "fatal" in this game. 2. No.16 finds his Groove as a passing QB. 3. Spartans are not ready for the 2011 / Hoke version of the Wolverines. 4. Six "practice games" for this junior-heavy team pays off and they start playing like the seniors they'll be next year. Prediction: If Michigan loses this game: there will be no "melt-down" afterward this time. Michigan will almost certainly end up at least 8-4 this year and they have a chance to do significantly better. This team is too well coached and their resolve and cohesiveness are too solid for that to happen. The chance of a MSU loss causing a melt-down is pretty near zero. There's no quit in these coaches and no quit in this team. Overall: in the long run, this game will be pivotal but Michigan will only either take a big step forward or go on to improve based on what they learned from this game. It's really a win-win situation and that's thanks to Coach Hoke and these very promising and talented players. Go Blue! Beat the Spartans!

My predictions: - The M Club sneaks the banner onto the field for Michigan's pre-game run-out. - Robinson, Gardner, and Jack Kennedy each have three TD passes before halftime. - As the second quarter draws to a close TV cameras show Dantonio on the phone. He's calling Izzo to ask for a job as an assistant. Or anything. - Little brother runs up 29 total yards of offense by halftime. They later call this "a symbolic victory". - After the game Nike calls and asks for their uniforms back. In a related note, Notre Dame calls and asks them to "Please avoid embarrassing us again and stick to your own team colors instead of wearing ours." - Smith, Fitz, Shaw, and Rawls each rush for over 200 yards. - Final score: Meeechigan 107, little brother 0. - Hoke's post game comment: "We had some kids do some good things and I'm seeing some progress. But we're nowhere near to playing 'Michigan Football' and we have a lot to work on this week." Go Blue!
