Michigan and Minnesota will fight for Little Brown Jug at noon on Oct. 1, game to be televised on Big Ten Network
The Michigan football team's 2011 Big Ten opener against Minnesota will kick off at noon on Oct. 1 and air on the Big Ten Network, according to the conference's official Twitter account.
The Wolverines and Golden Gophers will meet for the first time since Michigan retained the Little Brown Jug with a 29-6 victory at Minnesota on Nov. 8, 2008.
Minnesota has not beaten Michigan since 2005, and the Wolverines hold a 66-22-3 edge in the historic series.
Other Big Ten games on Oct. 1 will be Penn State at Indiana (Noon, ESPNU), Northwestern at Illinois (Noon, ESPN2), Michigan State at Ohio State (3:30 p.m., ABC), Nebraska at Wisconsin (8 p.m., ABC) and Notre Dame at Purdue (8 p.m., ESPN).
