' Michigan football verbal commit Kellen Jones from Houston St. Pius X High School has been selected to play for the 2011 U.S. Under-19 National Team, assembled by USA Football.

The team will play against a collection of athletes from four continents in the second annual Team USA vs. The World game at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Austin (Texas) Westlake High School.

Jones, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker, is one of the 45 U.S. high school seniors to take part in the game to be held on national signing day, the same day he is expected to sign his national letter of intent with the Wolverines.

A national team exemption granted by the NCAA allows high school seniors to play for USA Football and not have their participation count as one of two permitted all-star game appearances.

The game will be streamed live at www.highschoolsports.net/usafootball.

Happy NSD. I hope everyone at A2 DC can cover it from home tomorrow instead of going out in the blizzard. Get those cell phones and computers ready....

Does anybody know if this game will be televised at all, other than at www.highschoolsports.net/usafootball? I'd like to watch it on my HD TV rather than my bad computer monitor.
