Michigan football commit Shane Morris wows analyst with 70-yard throws, appears 'college ready'
Shane Morris, the face of the Michigan football program's 2013 recruiting class took center stage earlier this month at the ESPN-sponsored Elite 11 quarterback camp in California.
And the five-star southpaw signal caller, joined by 24 other quarterbacks at the event, apparently didn't disappoint.
Rivals.com football recruiting analyst Mike Farrell handed out his best and worst awards from the camp Wednesday, and gave Morris high marks -- particularly for his arm strength.

Farrell also gave Morris props for his college-readiness, saying he's already physically prepared to compete at the Big Ten level.
In a ranking of all the quarterbacks at the event, Rivals.com slated Morris at No. 4 overall.
It wasn't all sunshine for Morris, though, as the future Wolverine was left off the event's official "Elite 11" listing.
The 6-foot-3 left-hander is rated as a five-star prospect by Scout.com, and the third-overall quarterback prospect nationally.
Rivals.com lists Morris as a four-star player, and the second-best pro-style quarterback prospect for the 2013 class.

Shane's a great recruit for MICHIGAN. But really guys...this kid gets more press than any current player on the team, maybe outside of DR. Good, he can throw the ball 70 yards ( that's what...a 1% pass ). My questions are: Will he beat Bama, end the 4 game losing streak against State, or knock off OSU in the shoe this year? NO, he has yet another year of HS football. Let's not put so much unnecessary pressure on this kid, he still have a year before coming on campus and already expected to win a BTC and NC.

First, he has to earn the spot ahead of Devin Gardner, one of the most sought after quarterbacks in the nation when he was in high school. It should be a good competition and make each one a better player.

70 yards? His arm is more than college ready - that's an NFL arm for sure.

It's really hard to read or see anything but super great things about Shane, the nations best high school player. You have to love reading about him, but geez - it's a full year and one month before Shane starts his assault on four straight national championships for Michigan. All I can say is, he must be a threat, because he has the low life spartys all in an uproar. What an absolute great time to be a Michigan Football Faithful ! MgoBlueForTiM...Shane can throw a ball in the air from the North scoreboard to the South scoreboard, and knock the lights out at a night game, reminisce of "The Natural".

Shane has gotten more press than the Lindbergh baby. He better be good. On a similar note- Russell Bellomy has not been arrested once since he stepped on campus!

I'd love to see this kid launch a 70 yard pass at the end of the UM-MSU game during the celebratory victory mop up time and have the football land right in Mark Dantonio's big mouth to finally shut him up.
