Almost one by one the Michigan football players filed out of Schembechler Hall after finding out who would replace Rich Rodriguez.

And almost to a player, they appeared excited about former San Diego State coach Brady Hoke.

Will Heininger was the first player out of the building, exiting giving two thumbs up before talking to the media. Find out what he and others had to say after the jump.

@Maizenblu, I don't really know what the truth is about this whole thing. Was it just rumors about getting Harbaugh? Did DB just go to visit with Les to appease certain factions in the Wolverine nation. If he gets Brady Hokes without attempting to look like he's interviewing other candidates maybe that angers a lot of Mich. Alum and fans. At one time we're told we got Harbaugh. Out here in Calif. we were told he (DB) got Les Miles all of course rumors. I personally think Dave Brandon was in a real catch 22 and I doubt whether many fans are really happy with this hiring. I think a lot of people are glad it's over (start recruiting) and I think at this point we've all heard that Brady Hokes is a decent coach and we're all hoping that at Mich. he can become a great coach.

Yeah, so tell me Brandon if Hoke was "Plan A" then why did you hire a search firm???? What was all the bs about "national search". There was no national search. You talk to Harbaugh about Hoke, and then you spent a few hours with Miles talking about Hoke. Who else did you search out? Oh yeah, Northwestern's coach, whom you knew had no interest whatsover - just to make it look good. What a dog and pony show. You are a politician at heart.

This hire could have been done months ago. You waited two months to hire someone you could have had years ago. Sheesh...
