The 2011 regular season is in the books.

Ready for 2012 yet?

The Michigan football team's annual spring game will be April 14, a team spokesman confirmed. The time has not yet been determined.

The school will formally announce the game when details are firmed up.

The buzz surrounding last year's spring game was the public unveiling of Michigan's coaching regime and pro-style offense. This year, it's likely to be the defense, where the Wolverines will be looking to replace senior stalwarts Mike Martin, Ryan Van Bergen and Will Heininger on the defensive line.

Martin was named second-team all-Big Ten by the coaches and media this week, and Van Bergen was honorable mention. They're both team captains.

The spring game will be tied with at least two other events. The Michigan men's lacrosse team will take on Ohio State in Michigan Stadium on the same day, according to a release from Champions for Charity, which organizes the Big House Big Heart Run.

The Big House Big Heart event will move from October to the spring game weekend, Champions for Charity announced. The event, which includes a 10-kilometer run, a 5K and a one-mile fun run and finishes inside of Michigan Stadium, will be conducted Sunday, April 15.

Pretty amazing with the tie-in events associated with the Spring Game. Let's hope for a nice spring day, compared to the last two years. I can imagine the enthusiasm all Michigan will have toward the Spring 2012 game, after the 10 and 2 and hopefully 11 and 2 season in the first year of Brady Hoke. I wonder how the Big House Big Heart charity run got involved.

...and Hoke will be thrilled to unveil his new QB coach, John Navarre (wearing a Citrus Bowl t-shirt).

Nevarre. My least favorite Michigan QB- that low sideways motion. Blocked a million times at the line. As fleet of foot as a ground sloth. That's what I hated about Lloyd Carr offenses. please Brady don't take us back there. Take us to a national championship.

Theo, what the halo is Navarre going to teach Dae'Nrrr.... 'O.K. kid, I could never run left or right for that matter run up the middle.....But damn it, I could stand in the pocked like a statue like no other.....plus I'm 6'4" and you Dea'Nrr are 5'4"..... Hoker might have seen the light regarding a QB that is mobile....he doesn't have to be a little fella. But the Pocket Statue might not be the near future for Big Blue.
