At last year's spring game, we were introduced to the concept of Denard Robinson under center (above). This year's open practice will be held April 14 at Michigan Stadium and will be packaged with two other events, the Big House Big Heart run and a Michigan vs. Ohio State lacrosse game.

College football resumes today.

Yes, already.

Army kicks off its spring camp today, according to ESPN's Mark Schlabach, and South Alabama begins its first spring practices as an FBS team Wednesday. Texas Tech starts spring practice Friday and Boston College, Duke, San Diego State, Memphis, TCU and LSU start later this month.

Michigan's spring camp begins March 17, according to a team spokesman, and culminates with a public scrimmage on April 14.

Much of the focus is expected to be placed on rebuilding the defensive line, which loses starters Mike Martin, Ryan Van Bergen and Will Heininger. The only returning starter up front is Craig Roh, who will be a senior.

The camp also will be the on-field debut of freshmen Jarrod Wilson, Kaleb Ringer and Joe Bolden, who enrolled early and have been participating in the team's off-season conditioning program.

The spring game will be open to the public. Last year's event was free, but attendees had the opportunity to donate to the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.

Details regarding this year's game, other than the date, have yet to be released.

The spring game will be tied to at least two other events. The Michigan men's lacrosse team will take on Ohio State at Michigan Stadium on the same day, and the Big House Big Heart event -- which includes a 10K run, a 5K and a 1-mile fun run that finish inside Michigan Stadium -- will be held the following day.

Sometimes it's nice to get players from out of state to join your team. I'd much rather have a Denard Robinson from Florida or Tate Forcier from California than a Steven Threet to Nick Sheridan from Michigan.

Is it March 17th yet? No? Come on man, I can't wait that long! It's going to be so exciting going forward for our beloved Wolverines. The speculation by many, not me though, of how good the team and coaching staff would be a year ago at this time is replaced by the sheer joy and excitement for the future of the program and a golden era of Football is in the midst. Go Blue, get in great shape and stay healthy, omg, omg, omg!
