Michigan football will partner with C.S. Mott Children's Hospital during spring game

By AnnArbor.com Staff

The Michigan football team is partnering with C.S. Mott Children's Hospital to raise money during the Wolverines' annual spring football game on April 17.

Fans can make a donation of choice to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital upon entering the gates of Michigan Stadium. Donations are accepted at any level but fans will receive giveaways for donating at the following four levels:

  • $5 donation receives an “All in for Michigan Towel”
  • $20 donation receives a spring game “All in for Michigan, All in for Mott” T-shirt
  • $250 donation receives four passes to a pre-season scrimmage
  • $500 donation receives 2 pre-game sideline passes to ONE of the following four games: Bowling Green, Massachusetts, Iowa or Illinois (limited number of passes per game).
To encourage fans to participate in the fundraiser, the Beam family of Brighton will match every donation dollar for dollar that is made at the gates.

The spring game is a free event, and the proceeds of the fundraising will assist in the building of the new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital scheduled to open in the fall.

1st Request. Everyone please attend the April 17, Spring Practice Game. 2nd Request. Everyone please donate $1.00 or more to Mott's Children at the Game. True story.... The UM football family is very close to the Mott's Children, show your support for the team at the game and by giving to Mott's for this great cause. I unfortunately spent a great deal of time visiting there in 2007, and what I viewed changed my life... in a very good way. Anyway, this will bring in at least $112,000.00 with everyone's donation, and God bless the Beam family. Before you go, stop by the B B Q, Theo is grilling steaks, Blue is by the beer truck, I am passing out the Victory cigars, Tater will be warding off the UM bashers, and our other three will be assisting.

2 things come to mind: 1. What a great plan to raise 'easy money' for Mott--but why not sell game tix for 3 or 5 dollars and donate it to Mott? Imagine if 40000 people did that? PLus those who take the next step? When I was a student, the spring game was not free. 2. What is with this "all-in" thing? I think it sounds cheap and gimmicky, as if we are not all supporters? That part I most definitely do not support, and if I could make it to the game, I would not buy that towel based on my thinking. Doesn't the block M stand enough on its own? Or " M go Mott" or something... But overall, good for the athletic department. Now, Dominos for all patients.

What a great idea. As a fan who grew up in the Flint area surrounded by many wonderful things that Charles Stewart Mott did and continues to do, count me in!

This is a fantastic idea... many UM players and coaches wear the plastic armbands for Motts Children and have visited the children on many occasions, as well as past graduates. Wouldn't it be great if they could give out the blue wristbands, I have been wearing one for 4 years that says, "M GO BLUE for Mott". I myself am expecting 112,000 fans at the Spring Game, just think if everyone gave just $1.00! Congrats to the Beam family for their generous offer - this is some of the things UM football and their great followers and fans are all about! Please COMMENTERS, don't make fun of this post, if you need a reality check go visit Mott's and see the children - it will change your life!
