The Michigan athletic department issued a special ticket for this season's home opener against UConn.

Michigan football season ticket holders have a potential souvenir. Season tickets went out this week and the ticket for the Sept. 4 home opener against UConn features a shot of the Michigan Stadium gates and a logo for the rededication of the revamped stadium.

The ticket is 7 inches by 3 1/4 inches, larger than the normal 5 1/2 x 2 1/4 tickets for the rest of the home games.

Great story Portage...just touching that Michigan flag, knowing the history - history's best team ever, gives me a thrill. This year, in tribute to RichRod and the teams most fantastic year of 2010, we have decided to hang it up on the door to the garage - every time we leave the house we slap it a big one, now that is a story for Michigan Faithful....my neighbor has a osu and msu floor mat near his door, steps all over it and wipes his feet on it when he comes and goes - just like Wolverine football.....priceless....

Yesterday I got out the big ol Mich. flag, dusted it off a bit and then my wife and I went out to dinner. Now to me that's an important story.

I noticed that right away when I got my tickets. But, really the only thing that matters to me is that we win the game. The ticket could be as big as a bed sheet for all I care (altough that would probably be hard to hold under the scanner at the gate!)

If ANY of these tickets have Our King pictured on them, look out! Just keeping a handful of these tickets will enable one to retire in time after Our King wins about a dozen National Championships or so. Long Coach The King

3&Out Actually, That could make the ticket worth something.

This commerative ticket could lose most of its luster if the game ends up as a 34-28 loss as Im forseeing.

So the ticket will be worth something in a few years, as long at the stubs arent ripped off. Kinda like a stamp, no value once they've been canceled (Except for a few rare pieces). So make sure to stay home kiddies, listen to those ABC Announcers laugh and call all of Rodriguez's plays, dont be there for "The Horrah". "Woooooooooooooo Nelly, Connecticut wins in a stunned silent rededicated Michigan Stadium"

I think these tickets are great, although, I think a "King Dedication" theme would have been more appropriate. Long Coach The King
