barnz, While it's true that some head coaches go where the best paycheck is even if it means abandoning their alma mater (not talking about Magee), a coach like Bo stayed at Michigan even when offered more money at Texas A&M. Why? Because he bled maize n' blue. He then fired Frieder when he wasn't up to the same loyalty with the B-ball team. So, while some coaches follow the paycheck and worry only about themselves and their personal triumphs, the legends focus on the program above all else. The team, the Team, the TEAM. Too bad there aren't more coaches like that anymore.

Barnz378,How do you know why "guys" come to UM or for that matter why they would leave? Did one of these "guys" tell you that was their reason for coming or going? That's what's wrong w/ society today, everybody knows everything about a situation without KNOWING the source.I think that's called BEING PSYCHIC!!! Can we deal with what we know(about each individual circumstance)instead of ASSUMING things we don't know yo be true? That's all I ask.Please. GO BLUE!!!

Just because a coordinator applies for a head coaching posiiton does not mean they what OUT of a program. Most want the opportunity to run a program of their own. I have no problem with a assistant wanting to be a head coach

So, if I read the headline, it suggests that Magee put a resume together in hopes of getting out of Ann Arbor... Geez, dark times in AA. Lake Erie, No need to waste time on the resident troll known as tater.

Tater, first of all,he went to the job interview b/c he loves what he does and he wants to BETTER his situation.Who goes to a job interview thinking"This is a career killer. If I don't do well,I'm toast?"Lane Kiffin sure as hell didn't!And who are YOU to tell someone WHERE they should start their HC career? If he has the credentials to get a HCing job,no matter where(UM,OSU,Penn St.Florida,etc.)then he gets the job.PERIOD!!! If you're good, you're good!No excuses.I'm pretty sure he understands the level of coaching that he can handle. Are you trying to say RR is possibly in a CAREER KILLING job!? After 2yrs. & this IS NOT where Michigan should or NEED to be!!!Maybe RR should go coach at some of those jobs you mentioned for Magee(again) and when he get it right, come back to UM and show us what he learned while he was there!! Until then,I think Magee should apply WHERE he feels it is RIGHT for him!Not you.GO BLUE!!!(year 3 coming up).
