New Mexico State guard Jahmar Young was serious when he didn't recognize the name of Michigan State's Kalin Lucas while being asked about his team's first-round game in the NCAA tournament, MLive.com reports.
From the article:
"No," Young said in a conference call from campus in Las Cruces, N.M. "What's his name? Kalin Lucas? I've really never heard of him. But if he's that good, he's got to show it. We've got Hernst Laroche, Jahmar Young, Wendell McKines, Troy Gillenwater."
Aggies coach Marvin Menzies, when told about Young's remarks, said the player "probably really doesn't" know Lucas.
"I'm sure he knows, or has heard his name, but I don't know. J.Y. is a different character, man," Menzies said. "He's focused. That kid's going to make a lot of money one day."
Michigan State will face New Mexico State on Friday at 7:20 p.m.
