Patriots take Michigan punter Zoltan Mesko in the 5th round of NFL draft
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have chosen Zoltan Mesko of Michigan, making him the first punter taken in the NFL draft.
They selected the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Mesko with the 19th pick of the fifth round Saturday. He averaged 42.5 yards per punt in college. Of his 243 career punts, 76 were downed inside the 20-yard line and 58 traveled at least 50 yards.
The Patriots punter the past three years, Chris Hanson, is a free agent.

This is fabulous, Zoltan is a great kid - wish him the best. More reason to watch the Patriots with Super Bowl MVP and Michigan Football player Tom Brady and others. Another tribute to RichRod and his staff for shaping the young for future careers - something RichRod and his staff have done very well and with the current players they are shaping right now. Albeit, this is taking a bit longer than some unfaithful wish - the finished product will be well worth the wait. Those who stay will be champions - as RichRod & UM FB will soon see.
