Report: Skip Holtz next football coach at South Florida

South Florida hired East Carolina's Skip Holtz to coach its football team, FanHouse.com reported today.

Holtz, who compiled a 38-27 record at East Carolina. Holtz will replace Jim Leavitt, who was fired earlier this month after an internal investigation concluded that he grabbed a player by the throat and slapped him.

Michigan offensive coordinator and associate head coach Calvin Magee was rumored to be among the candidates for the position.

I'm very happy about this. We really need as much continuity as possible. It could be one positive among Michigan football, unlike a lot of programs lately.
