Top national running back recruit says he's favoring Alabama over Michigan
Dee Hart, a senior running back at Orlando Dr. Phillips, planned to announce what college he'll attend on Friday. Now there may be no need for a press conference.
Hart, who indicated recently that he had narrowed his choices to Alabama and Michigan, texted a reporter at the Orlando Sentinel on Wednesday morning and says he's "leaning toward Alabama."
Hart averages 8.1 yards per carry and has scored 12 touchdowns in four games this season.

@Dschan Apparently, you don't know Bama fans too well. They are worse than Michigan fans. They are "united" now that Saban is winning. You don't know how quickly they were to fight and foss when things were not going too well as recently as two years ago. That being said, all fanbase is pretty much the same; people complain when their teams are struggling. Adversity exposes the loyal fans as well as the pretenders. Every team has its own 3 And Out type fan.

"PS cut out the personal attacks here Jbizzle...its getting old and you are in violation of policy here" Reading Jbizzle's post, I didn't see any personal attack whatsoever towards you. In the contrary, isn't that demeaning to refer to us as "you little kids"? Your post should be removed just as you are so quick to get the annarbor.com staff to remove other people's posts when they stand up to your nonsense. This attitude makes me wonder whom the real "little kid" is.

sean, you included atmosphere in your criteria for picking a school, would that not include the fanbase??? and you cant say blaming the fans is stupid, personally, theres no way i would want to play for a team where half the fans whine and moan and complain about everything. i would want to play for a team that has 100% support from the fans and community. think about it for a second

Apparently Dee Hart attended the Florida/Alabama game and was impressed by the size and support of the crowd. He was also surprised by how one-sided the game was. Ingram will leave after this year and Trent Richardson will leave after the 2011 season. But, Alabama is at the top of Isaiah Crowell's (no. 1 or 2 back in the country) schools. So competition to get playing time will be stiff. Michigan definitely needs a quality back like Hart and with the promise of playing time, I hope he comes around. I hope he thinks this all through.

Dee Hart would never sit 3 years at Alabama before playing or him just playing special teams is complete hogwash. Nick Saban plays them young and like to use a 2 back system. I hope Hart chooses us because we need talent in the backfield but like many others have said thus far, this article may just be bolony.

I read the question... Bama has two great backs, why would he go there? Most Bama fans don't expect either RB to be back next year. They figure they will leave early to the NFL. And... this one is not just me blowing smoke out my bum. Sat and watched Bama's game Saturday with my neighbor... played for Bear Bryant at Bama. The entire time, he kept mumbling... hate to see those to leave after this year. If true, how can you blame the kid for choosing Bama? More than likely he will play in the national championship during his time there.

jbizzle...keep lying...i NEVER said the offense would be a joke this year ever.. can you prove that? nope you just make things up... that is the problem with you little kids over here, you cant take valid criticism of a program that has floundered and embarassed under Rich Rodriguez.. go ahead spout your D Rob stats...he is a great player...but the worst defense in the Big Ten, one of the worst in the BCS and the 3rd worst defense in 131 years of school history all under RR by the way will be this teams downfall.... THAT is what Ive said all along... but keep pumpin that one man offense if it makes you feel good PS cut out the personal attacks here Jbizzle...its getting old and you are in violation of policy here

Michigan 5-0... CHECK, DRob front runner for Heisman... CHECK, #1 Rusher in the nation... CHECK, #3 QB in the nation... CHECK, #2 offense in the nation... CHECK. See 3, I can do that too. The real question is when will you give Michigan props? I remember you saying the offense was gonna be a joke before the UCONN game but now you wont talk about the offense. Why? Is it because you realize that you stuck your foot in your mouth?

Why would he want to go to bama to sit on the pines or play special teams for 3 year. I would be surprised if doesn't announce that Michigan will be his new team.

I hope this story is load of you-know-what. Because I've heard he's been pretty strongly leaning toward U-M. Alabama already has 2 great backs there anyway. Why WOULD he go there? He fits in better with Michigan's offense. I say we wait until his actual announcement before getting all worked about this.

I will eat my shorts if Dee goes to Alabama. Many reputable sources clsoe to Hart say he's going Blue.

too bad they are being misled... there is a source close to the situation saying that this is nothing more than a smokescreen and that Hart will announce for U-M... there is a video of him from a couple days ago, saying that he is 100% sure where he is going so why now would he have to "lean" anywhere, which would imply uncertainty.

Story is fluff. Kid is already a silent Michigan commit.

Wow, Blame it on the fanbase. Denard and Tate still came here after the fanbase was divided, didn't they? Kids look at the direction of the program, playing time, education and atmosphere. I've never heard of a kid scaling through M-Live and saying" half of the fans don't like the coach, I'd better not go there". The article says he has Alabama over Michigan right now, he hasn't signed a letter of intent.

maybe if we had a fanbase that 100% behind the team, we could have landed this kid. he would be a valuable asset, and the mich backfield would have been unstoppable. hopefully something changes between now and then.
