Video: Michigan defensive coordinator Greg Mattison outlines his expectations

Michigan defensive coordinator Greg Mattison is fired up, noting that, "I feel like I'm about 35 years old. I know I don't look like it, but I feel great."
Mattison, speaking at a press conference earlier this week, stressed the importance for the Michigan defense to limit big plays this season. "The thing we have to correct is any missed assignments," Mattison said. "Missed assignments will eventually turn into big plays."

Now wait just a cotton-pickin' minute. Are y'all trying to tell me that there's something to this game of football other than score, score and score some more? You mean we're supposed to try to stop the other guys from scoring? What fun is that? C'mon ... it's all about offense. It's a video-game world and the attention-challenged need scores every 4.8 seconds. Science has proven that. It must be true. :-)

Okay Don...that's a little bit funny....Ha,Ha... We did, about century ago have a point a minute offense - however, we had a stifeling defense allowing only 6 points (all season) to Minnesota !

I'm ready to go back out there coach, put me in - It may take me three times as long to get down the field and get up off the ground...but you got me 150%, just make sure the ambulance is parked out on the field. What a difference a year makes! The HC and the DC actually know and respect each other. And given the OC came from the previous team with the HC, that feeling must be mutual. Can you imagine the message and focus being delivered with one voice: It's your responsibility, your commitment, your dedication to your teammates and the team that is expected. No excuses. Don't want to play every down? OK we'll find someone else who does. TiM Go Blue!

Blu n Tpa .. great post,you nail it ! was watching BTN the other nite,and they were showing Michigan vs Alabama bowl game frm Jan.1,2000 Michigan beat the tide by 1 in OT ,bama kicker missed the extra point ,and guess who rushed the field ? none other than Brady Hoke, he knows Michigan football,and now teaches the new Michigan players and recruits Michigan football.. GO BLUE...
