If you take a look at the height and weight of most of these recruits its easy to see that these kids are much taller and bigger then last years class. A few 6'1 safeties and taller corners along with the much needed help on the D line.

It was a solid recruiting class. Coach Rod and his staff should be given props! They addressed what they needed, and that was defensive help. They also added much needed depth! How these kids pan out remains to be seen but that is what developing and experience does. AND THAT IS ABOUT ALL ANY TEAM CAN SAY ABOUT ANY CLASS OF RECRUITS! Overall, I hope that with last year's players and with what we brought in, we can progress even further. LET'S GO BLUE!

RR did sign talent, mostly speed guys but there is talent. But there is a reliance on these young guys winning us games and I'm a bit scared about that. To get to 6 wins is possible but I'm not holding my breath. Good talent but I'm not seeing any game-changers here for 2010. The Future may be getting brighter thiugh.

This class is great for the team. Sidenote, I call on AnnArbor.com to suspend Dave Birkett from covering Michigan Football indefinitely. His comments in the press conference were extremely irresponsible, as well as proving his lack of journalistic integrity. Birkett publicly slandered a man who was proven innocent by a jury of his peers(Demar Dorsey), as well as showing disdain and disrespect for Rich Rodriguez by repeatedly bringing up the issue. At the very least, Mr. Birkett should write a letter of apology to Coach Rodriguez and Mr. Dorsey. He should also publish an article in AnnArbor.com explaining his unprofessional actions. If AnnArbor.com wishes to remain a legitimate publication, these steps must be taken.

Short, light, no 5-star recruits, fodder to be out-muscled again. Will take another drubbing in the Big Ten next year.

I think this was a very smart class by Rich-Rod... The smaller players at the DB positions don't worry me. In the past it seems like U of M would get a highly rated safety @ 6'0" 200 lbs as a high school kid and then you would see him playing linebacker because he put on 15 to 20 lbs from proper weight training. That type of recruiting over the past several years is what has hurt the defense. Defensive ends have moved to the tackle positions, LB's have moved to DE positions, Safeties have been moved to LB'S and corners to the Safety position - all because they have gotten to big / slow for their recruited / natural positions. Get them slighly undersized and put some muscle on them to keep them at their natural positions while maintaining speed.

I like the emphasis on defense, especially the defensive backs and linebackers, which were sorely needed. Like some, I am disappointed in the lack of linemen. Next year needs to be a banner year for linemen in order to compensate for that. There are too many smurfy slot receiver types for my lining on this team. All in all, this looks like a pretty decent class.

Hey Scott, don't be to sorry. If you would have actually read what you posted you would see that those cases are closed. Hopefully he's over it. We all tend to forget how young these kids are, better to make a mistake when your 16-17 years old rather than when your a college athlete.

Also RR will recruit the needs for next year. He has done it all year, and he'll coach them well.

First of all Lloyd did recruit great classes but he didnt recruit a big class like this. Another thing is that there is always room for them to beef up. Another thing is WE SCORED ON DORSEY!!!!!!! kid can bulk up, he could be the next Ed Reed. Maybe even better. RR did a great job in this class. Got his players and players that the fans demanded. Go easy on him he stole Dorsey away from FSU, USC, UF, and UT. Dorsey was the long shot. The defense will improve PERIOD. Great recruiting class RR, GO BLUE!!!!!!

LakeErie: what are you, an MSU dropout? You WANT a Top 20 class, would you rather be out of the Top 20? And, 27 recruits is not a small class. If you meant a #20 class, or the players are small, then say so, but the size of the class is not small.

Macabre While in general I agree w/your posts, I think you maybe letting a a little hyperbole into your statements this time. Yes, I'd like to see some bigger kids there too and I think we'll regret not signing more than one O-Lineman in this class, but I think it's a pretty good group of young men. Our defensive backfield is not good and this class goes a long way toward addressing it, maybe a bit too far, but we'll see. Next year, we'll have to concentrate on O Line, D line, and LB's, because the game is won in the trenches, speed or no speed.

Hats off to Rodriguez! He addressed so many needs this recruiting class- not to mention a couple from last years class who will step up big now (looking at you William Campbell and JT Turner). He didn't blow his load on the offense. The offense is already about as potent as can be- all it needs now is experience. I am so excited for this team going forward. The offense is going to be awesome to watch when these guys are running more of the playbook and actually have it learned.. making the plays crisp/on time. timing is key in this offense- and i think we'll be seeing a LOT of major gains from speedy players this fall. As for the defense- doesn't hurt one bit to replace guys from one of the worst defenses we've ever seen. New faces are a godsend right now.. that plus experience for those who are good enough to continue playing defense from last year. Also, not changing defensive coordinator yet again will bring stability. GO BLUE!! HAIL!

Dreadful. Disastrous. Horrendous. This would be a good recruiting class for a Big East school, not a Big Ten school. Michigan football has taken another step backward. We should never be satisfied with top 20. Carr never recruited a class this small or this weak or this poorly ranked. We are going to be pushed around on the line every single game. The best track team in the country should not be wearing pads and helmets.

This is a really great class that adds a ton of very needed depth. This will be the foundation for the 2012 & 2013 seasons.
