Where should the Big Ten hold its first football championship game?

By AnnArbor.com Staff

When Big Ten leaders convene next week during the conference's media days in Chicago, one of the major topics of conversation might be the location of the Big Ten's first football championship game after the 2011 regular season.

Which venue should host the game?

Tater, I'm really beginning to think that you are afraid of cold weather. I'm guessing it has to do with this wonderful spread offense that is being implemented. Imagine the QB running down the line, waiting to the last second to pitch the ball... he pitches it to the RB running the line with him... and clunk it bounces off his frozen hands. Three more times this happens in a row... and the QB says to heck with it, I'm keeping the darn thing. The defense Ts off the rest of the day on the small QB. Game done. No power game, no cold weather play. Where are the most effective spread offenses implemented? In the warmer areas. If you're a UM fan... you are begging to be inside. I say play it at Lambeau field or Soldier Field! OSU can adapt and run a power game. Penn State can adapt and run a power game. We know Iowa and Wisci would be happy with that also. The Big Ten is where real football is played!

I don't think Michigan would mind playing it anywhere...the best team can play in any venue...after a fantastic 2010, the Wolverines win at every stadium in every type weather - and walk away with the inaugural championship, the first of many to come. Michigan - wins first Big Ten Championship...any where...and forever after...

I voted for an indoor facility but after reading some of the reviews. I agree, it should be outside! Remember a few years ago when Oklahoma won the BCS Title, the Big 12 playoff was in KC in really bad weather. They then went on to win the National Title, think was in 2000,. If a team is good, they can play in any weather, this is what The game is all about, Both sides have the same challenges.

I like the Spartys "history" at ford field, maybe this years football game there against florida Atlantic won't be as "challenging" as there last two games against the ACC.

Anywhere that's not inside! Play football the way it's meant to be played.

Well, after Our King wins his first National Championship this year, a special dedicated stadium will more than likely be built in his honor... Yep, that's where the Big 10 Championship should be played.

just play it outside... having indoors is against everything the Big Ten preaches - about winning in poor weather... playing in a Dome is a cop out - does any Big Ten team play in a Dome anymore now? Isnt Minnesota outside again?
