Facing a state-championship contender in Okemos, the Huron water polo team, state champions in their own right, knew they had a tough challenge Wednesday night.

But the River Rats rose to it, edging the Cheiftains 9-7 in a nonconference water polo game in Ann Arbor.

"We didn't let them answer fourth-quarter goals; we focused in the fourth," said Huron coach Chris Keenan, whose team was tied with Okemos 6-6 heading into the final frame. (Story)
