Week 5 football predictions: Games getting more important
There was a significant moment in the high school football season this week, and we didn't write one word about it at AnnArbor.com.
No news source in the state did, as far as Google knows.
But it happened. Sometime late Monday night/early Tuesday morning, the midway point of the season unceremoniously passed us by.
It seems like we just got started, but it's already time to start thinking about playoff berths and conference championships.
And there are three games in particular this Friday that will go a long way in determining league titles: Pioneer at Temperance Bedford, Addison at Manchester and Lincoln (yes, Lincoln!) at Chelsea.
My first $100 donation to Food Gatherers is in the mail after last week's dismal 7-4 performance. Readers went 8-3 by picking Tecumseh over Ypsilanti, which I missed. You can play along again this week by voting in the polls below.
I'm quite alright with a one-time donation, but if I lose many more weeks I'll be organizing a fundraiser to feed my own kids. So let's get things back on track, shall we?
My picks are available on MLive.com. Now it's your turn:
Season record: 32-10 (.762). Last week: 7-4 (.636). Best pick: Lincoln 32, Dexter 28 (Lincoln won, 33-32). Worst pick: Saline 24, Temperance Bedford 13 (Bedford won, 40-7).
