A 16-year-old boy is facing three felony charges after police say he broke into an Ypsilanti Township home, assaulted the homeowner and stole a gun on Monday. Washtenaw County Sheriff's officials said the boy will be tried as an adult, but his name was not released today.

Ypsilanti police say they arrested a 19-year-old man with a loaded handgun this afternoon after a citizen called to report a man on the street with a gun in his hand. Another person with that man was arrested on a warrant.

Campus concealed weapons bills debated at Eastern Michigan University panel discussion

While making his case for allowing concealed weapons on college campuses, David Coy noted that people with permits have to take classes in the use of firearms. The point did little to convince at least one student in the audience of about 100 at Eastern Michigan University Thursday.
