Short in electrical wire, possibly due to rain, causes power outage for 1,000 homes south of Ypsilanti

About 1,000 homes south of Ypsilanti lost power today, according to DTE. The cause of the power outage appears to be a short somewhere in the system that caused a circuit breaker to pop, said DTE spokesman John Austerberry.
