Ann Arbor teen still in critical condition after 6-story fall

Close friends of Alexandra Pew have visited her at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing and report she's doing well in the aftermath of her six-story fall Sunday, said Peter Fayroian, head of school at Greenhills where Pew is a senior.

Greenhills administrator: Student injured in six-story fall at MSU dorm expected to recover

It could have been so much worse. That was the thought the Greenhills Head of School after learning that senior Alexandra Pew had fallen through a six-story window at a Michigan State University dormitory early Sunday.

A drastic contraction in Michigan’s population is a recipe for further economic erosion, a Michigan State University researcher said today. Michigan lost 89,844 residents from 2005 to 2008, according to a new MSU report released today. But Washtenaw County fared better, gaining 3,000 residents during the same timeframe.
