City of Ann Arbor web site temporarily unreachable
The City of Ann Arbor main web site, a2gov.org, was unreachable for a portion of Friday and Saturday. Visits to the site were redirected to an alternate page, http://www.a2gov.org:8081/Pages/default.aspx, which was unavailable. The outage also affected the city's new municipal data catalog which was published in mid-February.
Portions of the city's online infrastructure are still functioning normally, including the Etrakit permit system, the video on demand archives of municipal meetings, and the Legistar legislative system.
As of 9:55 a.m. Saturday, the main city web page appeared to be operating normally.
On Jan. 8, the city web site noted technical difficulties, saying that "All pages of the city Web site, at a2gov.org, are experiencing technical difficulties, and updates are not publishing as they should be, on an hourly basis." Correspondence with city IT director Dan Rainey on that date noted the problems at that time were associated the Content Deployment Services component of the Microsoft Sharepoint system that the city uses to publish information, and that IT staff was working at the time with Microsoft to address the issues. It is unknown whether the current issues are related to this issue.
Edward Vielmetti was looking for Ann Arbor Farmers Market information.
